Relapsing Polychondritis
Awareness and Support
Kaz's Story
After waking up with a painful swollen nose Kaz, 46 of Australia, was diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis. She had experienced a bout of scleritis months earlier.
Her diagnostic journey has included visits to a myriad of specialist, because RP can effect many body systems, including dermatologists, surgeons, ear nose and throat specialists, neurologists, rheumatologists, pulmonolgist, gastroenterologist, and immunologists.
Sadly, a year later, at age 47, Kaz states her RP is not under control and she continues to experience pain and low-grade fevers daily. She has been admitted to hospital multiple times, the longest lasting 11 days. She continues to search for an effective treatment.
